The waters surrounding Pulau Ketam suffer from pollution caused by tourist littering. In Bahasa Melayu, ”Ketam” translates to crab. This pollution has a detrimental impact on the marine ecosystem of the island, especially on its crab population. Consequently, it diminishes the Pulau Ketam appeal as a tourist destination. Can you imagine Pulau Ketam without the “Ketam”.
The concept and idea is to promote conservation, responsibility, awareness, and balance among tourists regarding the impact of littering on Pulau Ketam’s crab population by utilizing motion graphics and interactive installations, allowing users to engage with a gamified digital experience.
This installation utilizes motion graphics and projection mapping on a large crab model. Users can interact with different interactive props such as fishing rod and 3D models to create a gamified experience and engage with the projected content. Each interaction will visuallize the impact of littering towards the crab population in Pulau Ketam.
